This is not just a policy — it is a technical architecture decision. There is no server-side file processing infrastructure because none is needed.

How Your Files Are Processed

All PDF operations — including merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, watermarking, converting, OCR, and translating — are performed client-side using open-source JavaScript libraries running in your browser:

• pdf-lib — For PDF manipulation (merge, split, rotate, watermark, compress)
• PDF.js — For PDF rendering and page previews
• Tesseract.js — For optical character recognition (OCR)
• mammoth / docx — For PDF-to-Word conversion

When you select a file, it is read into your browser's memory, processed locally, and the result is generated on your device. At no point is your file content transmitted over the internet. You can verify this by opening your browser's Developer Tools (F12 → Network tab) and observing that no file data is sent during processing.

Data We Collect

We do not collect any of the following:

• File contents, file names, or file metadata
• Personal information (name, email, address) — no accounts exist
• Payment information — there is nothing to pay for

We do collect anonymous, aggregated data through third-party services:

• Page views and tool usage counts (which tools are used, not what files are processed)
• Technical information: browser type, screen resolution, operating system, referring URL
• Geographic region (country-level, not precise location)

This data is collected via Google Analytics (GA4) and is used solely to understand which tools are most popular and to improve the service. No personal data or file data is included in analytics.

• The site source code uses open-source PDF libraries whose code is publicly auditable

GDPR (European Users)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process data under the following legal bases:

• Legitimate interest — For anonymous analytics to improve our service
• Consent — For advertising cookies (managed through your browser settings)

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access any personal data we hold about you (we hold none beyond analytics)
